A little Bourbon Whiskey makes the medicine go down…(or Brandy!)

Wildcrafted in Ottawa, ON – this potent elderberry elixir is a boosted version of elderberry syrup. With a few additional herbs, we have taken this stand alone remedy and turned it into a night cap.

It’s an Irish twist on an old classic remedy. I like a hot toddy – but prefer it to have an extra medicinal boost. So when it’s cold outside and the kids are coming home with whatever ick is out there… I pour a cuppa (tea) and add some of this deliciousness.

Did you know that Brandy has medicinal properties? I add it for the respiratory component, it helps relieve coughs due to a cold and helps a sore throat. Back in the 19th century brandy was used to treat fevers, depression and stress, although its prime use was as a cardiac stimulant.

Brandy also contains antioxidants (copper) which can have a cholesterol and inflammation lower effect. In fact it’s said that 30 ml of Brandy has the same antioxidant potential as the recommended daily dose of vitamin C. It’s heart healthy too, lowers risk of heart disease, stroke, and congestive heart failure, although over use can have the opposite effect so moderation and a little dose of common sense may help here. Yes there are studies to show this just search the old google.

Ingredients: Wildcrafted black elderberry, elderflower, rose-hip, cinnamon, clove, raw local buckwheat honey and either bourbon whiskey or Brandy (you can pick!), spring water.

Use: 1 – 2 tbsp, use solo or add to a tea or soda, as desired. Salute to your health! Don’t use this as a daily preventative, we recommend grabbing our Gold-Digger aka Four Thieves Tonic for that. Use this at the first signs of symptoms. You can also take it straight up! You can use this every few hours or as needed.
