Holly has been in the herbal world for her whole life, with a strong medical background she quickly realized that it wasn’t enough, we needed herbs but we needed to use the herbs PROPERLY. When we practice herbal medicine we cannot treat it as though it is the same thing as a medication. The way we approach herbalism can oftentimes be the same, a pill for the ill or an herb for the ill… this is not the way. We need to dissect and go much deeper. What is your constitution? What does it FEEL like within your body. We need to also look at the energetics of the plant, if you are hot and dry would you give a warming/drying remedy? Of course not! You would want something cooling, moistening and effective!
Combining ancient medical traditions, western herbalism, folklore and ancient wisdom in the form of medical astrology, Holly has an adopted an approach that sets her apart. Bridging the gap between science and intuitive plant knowledge, integrating western philosophies with other philosophies such as Galenic medicine, astrological herbalism, magical/spiritual and all other dimensions of the plants we seek healing from. This might sound a little “out there” but it works.
Understanding that an herb may sound good on paper, but if your constitution does not match the energetics of the herb, you might find that the benefit quickly turns to detriment.
As with supplements and medications, herbs can also have contraindications. Before introducing herbal remedies in tea format (infusion), tincture, decoction or other format – you will want to know if there are any safety issues, this is where the science also gets thrown into the mix.
Is it safe while pregnant, breastfeeding or for children? What medications will the herb(s) interact with and what will that mean?
Can it be used long term? Is the safety dose dependant (if I take more than recommended is it considered toxic or harmful)?
Can it be combined with other herbs or medications safely? Some herbs are hepatoprotective but make certain medications less potent by standard dosing. This is where working with a clinical herbalist who understands that component is important. Holly has completed a herbal fellowship (in medicine) to accompany the rest of her training. Leaving no stone unturned as she likes to say.
What specific herbs will help support what it is that you are trying to treat. Remember that herbal remedies are meant to be a supportive approach, not a cure – however sometimes they can be what was needed to reconnect was has been disconnected. Over time some herbs can help support the systems that may be lacking, however not all herbs are safe for long term use. Since most herbs take time to truly shine through it is important to understand herbalism is not a quick fix. You must practice patience.

When I first booked my herbal consultation with Holly I wasn’t sure what to expect. She talked about each person having their own unique constitution, and how that makes a difference in the remedies she chooses. She asked about more than my health, she wanted to hear about my life circumstances, traumas, emotions and habits. She explained the energetics of the plants she was using for me. I didn’t realize that what worked for my friends anxiety was actually drying my already hot 🥵 dry constitution. I didn’t even know I had that. She switched me to a cooling and moistening formula to help balance me out and now herbs work for me. I had no idea it was this complex. Glad I found Holly, I continue to seek her knowledge for each health issue I have.

- DanyShe really knows her stuff. She picked herbs geared to me. I noticed some herbs I had been using worked but her recommendations worked better. Goad I did this.

- VeroI’ve been working with Holly for a year now. I keep seeing results. It amazes me how well she knows the body, the herbs and how to tie it all together. Not at all like other herbalists I have talked to in the past. She gets it in a way I can’t describe. It’s beautiful and it works
- PatriciaMy mind was blown! Holly isn’t like other herbalists. She went deep! We talked about my body, who I am and how my body has tendencies to be damp and hot (who knew!). She talked about remedies to help keep my natural balance. We got rid of some of my existing remedies that were actually making me worse. Apparently they were warming when I needed cooling and moistening when I needed to dry the tissues a bit. I am a believer in herbal remedies now. When we use them right they REALLY DO WORK.
- LangI didn’t know what to expect when I booked my call with Holly. She’s incredible. She had so much knowledge and helped me understand herbs I was using and why they weren’t working on their own or in teas I was making. Now I know what works for me specifically and my teas have turned into longer steeped cold brews, she called them something fancy but that’s what they are. I was missing ingredients to get results and I combine them with some tinctures she made for me. Worth the money
