The beauty of sage… it is known more for it’s smudging or saining ceremonies, or for use as a culinary herb. But did you know about it’s medicinal uses? It’s been used therapeutically for sore throats (as it has an affinity for both the throat  and mouth) as well as for the plague and even to smarten or sharpen the wits.

It has astringent properties, this means it tightens down irritated or inflamed tissues.

It’s also antimicrobial as well as useful for canker and cold sores, bad breath, and even periodontal disease, I personally love it in our Four Thieves Vinegar – an old pague remedy that kicks some serious cold and flu buttocks.
